This is the Four Friends sailing yacht. Not sure how long it was...54 feet? We had a company sailing outing on Sunday, from the North end of the island to near Bintan, Indonesia, back up to Frog Island again on the north side. The skipper and his wife had fantastic stories....he evacuated her whole family from Vietnam during the war. The food was fantasic, and the 12 hour voyage thoroughly enjoyable. The best way to spend 911 was doing something thorougly enjoyable and appreciating the freedom to do so.

Hanging on for dear life! Posted by Picasa
This was the second most fun I had on the sailing outage. We rigged up a sideboard cargo net for surfriding. Hanging on wasn't too hard, but especially fun over waves. Climbing back up to the top cross bar to reboard the vessel was the challenging part! Posted by Picasa

This is how far Mike and Aziz drifted in the tidal current in the time it took me to hop on a kayak and paddle out to say hello. Posted by Picasa
While we were moored near Frog Island, we had the opportunity to go kayaking. In this case, the kayak overturned pretty quickly for Mike and Aziz. Posted by Picasa
This is the Skipper's wife, Tue....one of the nicest people I have met here in Singapore.  Posted by Picasa
This is the skipper, Warren Blake, cousin of the Blake that captained one of the America's Cup previous winners.  Posted by Picasa

Did I mention that the skipper was crazy enough to let me pilot the yacht through one of the world's busiest shipping lanes, full of tankers, kayakers, and low-flying planes near the coastal international airport? His first mate Prakeesh was nearby in case anything went seriously wrong. This was the second most fun I had on the trip. Posted by Picasa
Shot of the mast of Four Friends. See how the Singapore flag is drooping? This is why we didn't do as much sailing as we did motoring along. Posted by Picasa
