This afternoon I began my near-cross-country drive to my dad's house to help with my mom's final arrangements. I don't know yet if a 2.5 day drive is going to be a good preparation for her service or not, but it has started off with a bang. I can't go over the Big Horns without taking time for a hike, and today was no different.... Except for the arrival of a sudden snow storm! The drive continued through some incredibly dramatic skies. Still in Wyoming....
What used to be a blog about experiencing the places and cultures of the world has morphed into one of living in my adopted home of Wyoming.

Another dramatic sunset sky
Usually about this time of day the more spectacular sky is the eastern one, where moisture builds up by day's end over the mountains. The western sky is typically only interesting if there is cloud cover.

Evening Glow
With Spring come the nesting pairs of sandhill cranes and red tail hawks; gone are the pairs of bald and golden eagles. It is the return of clear light and long, drawn out, luxurious sunsets.

Glad the sun finally broke through!
After a few days of grey clouds, most folks in the area become a little stir crazy. On this day the clouds broke on the western horizon just as the sun was setting, creating a wonderful splash of golden light looking eastward.

A Few Fall Photos
I was in Jackson, WY last week and while the National Parks were closed, I was able to spot some wildlife and changing leaves!
